Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX Catch Can Kit

The H2 SX has a tendency to pull oil out of the crankcase with the oem crankcase breather setup. By keeping the oil level in the mid to low range on the site glass the problem can be minimized but not eliminated.

The oil that’s pulled out of the crankcase coats the inside of the airbox, gets all over the air cleaner, fills the catch bottle, accumulates in the air plenum, and goes through the combustion chamber which can cause reduced engine performance, detonation, reduced spark plug life, and reduced spark plug performance.

With a BAM Performance oil catch can kit the crankcase breather hose is removed from the airbox, the airbox is sealed up and the crankcase breather hose is routed through the catch can and vented out above the chain in the front sprocket cover. With this setup, if any oil were to escape from the catch can it would simply oil the chain.

BAM Performance catch can kits are a comprehensive solution to the oil consumption issues associated with the H2 SX and include very high quality components.

We start with a very high quality large diameter silicone outlet hose. These silicone hoses look excellent, have excellent airflow properties, high temperature resistance, and are very easy to install.

We use a very high quality large diameter braided hose for the inlet hose.  These hoses have excellent airflow properties, are highly resistant to kinking, can handle very high temperatures, and are assembled with fittings so they’re ready and easy to install.  

The catch can and hose fittings used are all high quality AN fittings which look excellent, are easy to install, and have superior airflow in comparison to standard fittings.

We use high quality catch cans that are machined from billet aluminum and anodized black.  Our catch cans have excellent airflow, capture oil well, retain oil well, and feature a large oil capacity.  We also take things a step further by machining the catch cans and making internal modifications to further improve airflow, to improve the catch cans ability to capture oil, and to improve the catch cans ability to retain oil.

The mounts and brackets are all machined out of high quality billet aluminum and anodized black.  The mounts are strong, secure, look excellent, and position the catch can perfectly.

All of the hardware is made out of high quality stainless steel which is strong, looks great, and won’t rust. 

The catch can kit once installed is very discrete and has a nice oem appearance to it. It can be drained easily without removing the plastic. Also, you will be able to run your oil level at the full mark without any issues.

Each catch can kit will include all of the necessary components and hardware to complete the installation as well as very thorough installation instructions.

The picture of the air plenum is from a customers bike.  The bike was stock and had 8k miles on it.  This is an example of how much oil can accumulate in the air plenum without a catch can kit.
